Why not make a personalised alphabet photo book for your child? They will LOVE it and will be keen to keep practising sounding out letters and words whilst flicking through the pages of their very own personalised book.
I came across this idea a long time ago and it took me several more months to get round to making an Alphabet Photo Book for Miss 5. I chose images that would mean something to her and that corresponded to each letter of the Alphabet. It took a little while to create the entire book and to find relevant images for some of the trickier letters but the perseverance paid off.
Once I had selected images for all the letters, I used picmonkey to edit the images, create collages, add text and effects. Here are some examples of pages in Miss 5’s Alphabet Photo book.‘E’ is for egg
‘H’ is for Halloween.
As you can see, I used photos from activities, events that both children remember and would have a mental association with.
Once I had prepared all the pages/letters, I waited for a Groupon discount code to appear for an online photoprinting company to pop up and then went ahead and created the book.
This was really fun to create and Miss 5 loves it!
